How Is The Gum Lift Done?

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a gum lift procedure is done by first numbing the gums (sedation may be available upon request). The dentist then uses a special tool that works like a pen to mark where they will be removing gum tissue. Removing the gum tissue is done with a scalpel or dental laser. In some cases, the dentist may also remove very small pieces of bone around individual teeth to achieve the right look (this is dependent on the individual patient’s bone structure). When and if necessary, the dentist will use sutures to control bleeding.
